Mekanik
This is probably old news and you Diesel Gods probably know this by now, but I wanted to post it anyway. The copper washers that go on the HP pump for the supply and return lines have been replaced with the washers just like where the fuel lines attach to the fuel cooler. Black washers with a rubber inside. I found this out after spending fifteen minutes in parts and then calling hotline. Because the different style washer, the torque spec has also changed. It is 18 lb/ft versus 28ft/lb.
Mikill
Yeah they changed that a while back. I think they are much better than those double copper washers.
fordtech03
+2 on that. The WSM has the torque specs for both, I have been replacing the copper style with the newer ones as needed.
Alex Bruene
Vitron seals are much nicer to deal with. But, I have seen them leak a few times on turbo oil lines... I have never seen the copper ones leak unless they've been reused.
RickB
I had one were the lines had been off a couple times before due to shorted wiring under cover & connectors popping off under cover that leaked with the new vitron seals. The banjo fittings wre concave (dished) - vitron seals didn't seal. I only found out after the cab was back on & job completed - bleeding air from fuel - fuel running onto floor. I replaced the lines. Watch for this as the copper gaskets would still seal.
