Bruce Amacker
NETS is the program, and flashing it did fix the cold performance problem on a F650 we did lately. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubb...=true#Post27727 Good Luck!
robp823
just flash it and it will automaticly update? Thanks
Bruce Amacker
IIRC, we pulled the flash out with NETS, (it's called a "get") sent it to Ford, they massaged it, sent it back to us and we installed it with NETS. It did fix the problems and made the trucks run considerably better! Keith- is that how Ford does it usually?
Keith Browning
Yes sir! But I believe the data is sent to Navistar, not Ford. * I THINK * You will need a NETS user name and password to perform the reprogramming which you can get by calling the Ford Hot-Line. robp823
yes i have the user name and password and ive done a get/send before.I was just curious has to how it updates it.I guess when you do a get you automatically get the latest versions. RichMichels
I know this is a old post, did the reflash work with Navistar computer or did you have to log into Ford for the file? We have a '03 650 6.0 in the shop that's running bad. Need to check if it's up to date?
Keith Browning
Do you have a Navistar scan tool like MD Truck in your shop? You will need to download NETS from the Rotunda website and you will need a username and password from Ford... call the Hot-Line...
RichMichels
We have master diagnostic's, We have Net's, but I believe it's a Navistar version? It connects to Navistar's engine files. I'm guessing that Ford has their own files on their own servers? I'll look at the Rotunda site, the link in the resource section ask's for a password, do you know of another web page that'll get to the correct area? I'll try the hotline Thanks,,,,
Keith Browning
That's a negative on Ford having the files... NETS connects to International for the files and as far as I know that has not changed. So if you have MD Truck + NETS + username and password that is all you need. Like I said, if you don't have a username and password or you have forgotten your information just run OASIS and contact the Hot-Line using the form. I had to and it didn't require a phone call. RichMichels
Just a update to help the next guy out,,, I am a Navistar tech, I was able to use my log in (Navistar DYY number) and password with Navistar's NETS to download and reprogram a ECM on a '04 F-650. The Navistar server accepted the VIN, and the file came back with the correct engine serial number. It appears that both Ford's and Navistar's nets are the same except for each has their own logo's embedded on the pages. This truck ran rough and smoked black, with no codes. Two other shop's had worked on it before it came to us. One installed a new set of injectors, the other a new turbo. We tested the IDM (FICM)voltages @ 47.5V and installed a EBP sensor, the old one was biased, it still acted up after replacement. After the re-flash it quit smoking and ran smooth. Thanks to this forum for helping solve this problem!
