STROKER_T
Hey yall...got a 6.4 here w/ an oil leak,it's the grommet seals on both rocker arm covers where fuel rail protrudes and HPP lines fasten,(part # W302463).... Has anybody seen trouble w/ these seals, both sides seems kinda odd,oil level is correct,no codes, truck runs good...31,021 miles Wondering how i'm gonna perform this repair, cab on or off, sould I painstakingly perform a fuel dye run test w/ valve covers off? Keith Browning
Look at this topic and see if it is the same problem http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6600#Post6600
STROKER_T
Thanks Kieth...yep,that's the same as what is sittin' in my bay...thinkin both valve covers are coming off,not sure about which way to tackle this piece...for proper installation i'm assuming that both rails are removed, which means 10 new fuel lines and who knows what else... ahhh, the 6.4...not much good to say about it
Keith Browning
I got this one! Ahhhhh, just hit it with some Brakleen and dry it off with compressed air. Then take a some of that nice gray silicone sealant and pack it around the line completely covering the seal. Mark my words. Some day ONE of us is going to come across this.
