So...people say that when a bird shits on you, it's good luck.

 

I beg to differ.

 

I am standing outside my stall, drinking my coffee. Bird shits down my left arm, and right into my fresh hot coffee, with about 2 sips out of it. So I shit-can the coffee.

 

Not long after that, my merciless air ratchet grabs a seized fastener and bashes up my knuckles.

 

Not long after that, that same air ratchet has apparently developed some sort of burr on it's end, which then proceeds to slice the end of my right middle finger open.

 

While all of this is going on (I'm doing coolers on a 6.0 on this job) the couple of trips down to the floor, to loosen the petcock for the rad, ditch the drain plug, etc. I have noticed a small sharp pain coming from what I thought was a zit on my lower back. I continued to ignore this.

 

So I get the coolers all done. I get to the point of putting the turbocharger back on, and the pipe won't line up to the inlet side of the exhaust side of the turbo. So I fuck about with it for about 15 minutes, and then after getting frustrated, say fuck it, I'll just drop down underneath and loosen 'er off at the manifold and the EGR cooler, and get everything aligned properly and she's all gravy!

 

Not so much.

 

I get underneath, (pain in the lower back from the apparent zit, ignore it again) and immediately proceed to round off the lower of the two bolts in the LH exhaust manifold to up-pipe. After fixing that up, I get on the top one, with my 3/8 gun between the frame and body (F-550). I got 'er wedged up in there pretty good. I sneeze, whack my head on the front crossmember of the frame, and after wiping my nose with my hand real quick, look up just in time to see my 3/8 mac impact gun headed directly towards my nose. So now I've got a nosebleed, and I can't fuckin see what I'm doing. I climb out from under the truck, grab a rag, stop my nose, then wipe my forehead. There's a chunk of tool steel in the rag.

 

So, it's getting late in the day, I do a couple other fairly problem free jobs, go home.

 

I get home, sit on the couch, an my apparent zit is now about 3" in diameter, and throbbing.

 

Go to walk in clinic.

 

Sit there for three hours.

 

Told to go to ER, immediately, before that bursts. It's a CYST. The problem herein lies -- I have fairly intrusive SPINE surgery scheduled for WEDNESDAY....which ain't gonna happen now since about 3mm from the surgery site there's a large open cyst with a staph bacterial infection.

 

Go to ER, get there about 10pm. Got home at 6am Saturday.

 

It's been a shitty week. Sunday started off with a tree laying on my house and punching several holes through the roof.

 

I better go check my lottery ticket....

A few weeks ago while riding my son's 50cc quad (picture a circus bear on a mini bike) I flipped over and crashed resulting in road rash to my left shoulder,elbow, side, and knee.

Suffered through a list of E bus's with blown coolers its not easy to not lean on your left elbow when working on an E bus.

but I made it through every things healed up lesson learned .

This Saturday I have the " CUBMOBILE" race's for my sons cub scout pack. I picked up 150 bales of hay to line the hill as a safety barrier. the hay is loaned to us and we must return it so durring the return I'm tossing hay bales off my truck to the ulity trailer attached to it so it can be passed to the others and stacked, as I toss a bale my feet slip on the loose hay on the floor of the bed and I go over the closed tailgate head first landing on the trailer tongue with my left shoulder dislocating it and tearing the associated tendons and muscles. So I'm out of work for an undetermend time, on the bright side I got lots of pills that do realy cool things to take till my shoulder heals..
