Keith Browning
Plus or minus 10% is the magic number as per Ford... but who is to say 9 is good? Remember though, fuel trims are affected by base engine problems as well... which are usually caused by fueling problems... see where this is going? Aaron
Yeah, I recall being told 10% is the happy number. But like Keith said... Is 9% OK? WHY is it at 9%? Is it an injector problem? Does the engine have a weak cylinder? A vicious circle, this is.
Steve Mutter
I just had one with a high fuel trim, the fuel trim on #6 was +19 and all my pinpoint test are going to a faulty injector not base engine, hotline wanted me to check for debris in the fuel system befor replacing the injector, cracked the line and found lots of metal in the fuel system, this is the 3rd one this month thats has metal in the system with no wif codes, water stains anywhere or water in the tank, so be careful when condemning fuel injectors,Billy_o tell Scott to check his e-mails
