Destroyed Turbo

Recommended Posts

These pictures are of the spilt turbo I started a thread about last week.

134,000 miles on vehicle, poor maintainence,K&N filter that was damaged.

It is obvious that something got past the filter and injested.

Gotta love it!

Nice. I love it when people screw themselves like that. And this is probably the first guy in line to bash US.

Are the housing bolts in in this turbo gone as well? I thought thats what you said was wrong.

...and, would you like to add one of them there pics to the photo gallery with the other Loss of control pics?

Yeah Keith , the 2 upper bolts were gone, the 2 lowers broken.

Funny thing is I didn't even notice the impeller until I had the blower on the bench.

There was also a bind in the shaft.

Whatever pics you want to take, be my guest.

Got the wife a Canon digital for Christmas, but what the hell, I may as well use it too.

  • 2 weeks later...

I still see alot of those bolts backing out but the turbos never seem to leak or come apart. Blade dammage like that almost always shows up with broken air fitler covers and people just leave them broken. For some reason I see a lot of those covers. missing clips too.
