Keith Browning
Are there any DTC's and did you perform the VVT test?
stevo90
dtc where po299 and they said the turbo had just been cleaned at another dealer to put it outside. ford hotline said turbo is stuck due to ebp pressure the pcm is rolling the vgt back to get ebp down
Keith Browning
That is why you need to run the YYT test. Do you have the sensor/tool?
Dr_Siko
Is it possible to install the sensor tool in a van??
Bruce Amacker
I haven't tried it, but it should go without much trouble. If it's too tight, drop the tranny crossmember down (pretty easy), this will give more access on the top of the turbo. Good Luck!
Dr_Siko
I have an engine to install tommorrow after a 6.0L P.M. 150K miles both coolers, head gaskets, injectors and clean to turbo. I'll test fit the sensor. It will be good to know if it will fit.
Keith Browning
It fits. I am shocked that you guys don't know this after all this time!
Dr_Siko
Would you believe I have never encountered a stuck VGT on the fleet of ambulances that are serviced here? (We run these units to 350K). I have seen a lot of worn unison ring with a key hole instead of the slot. We also have EGR valves going for more than 100K. Most owners would say we over maintenance but break downs are not acceptable. Too much paper work!! We have a very aggressive P.M. program. Predictable time out of service and contained cost without a lot of surprises. Most owners and many business customers fail understand to power of Preventative Maintenance. Brad Clayton
I understand, I don't want to be in the back of an ambulance broke down on the side of the road.
