Jim Warman Posted February 5, 2011 Share Posted February 5, 2011 Since they have a finite rev limit, I would think that valve float is something you wont see..... indeed - I don't think any modern electronically fuel injected motor is going to see valve float - at least not in stock trim. Having said that, I'd have to add the disclaimer that what I have said is in regards to "over revving". "Over-speeding" an engine.... this can be a horse of a different colour. Whoops.... Forgot about a "runaway"... So... yes - valve float can be a problem... albeit a secondary problem.... Not sure when I'll run out of cool smileys....
