joshbuys
Got this question in an e-mail from a friend, e-mailed him back to see if it's a 3.0 or 4.0, so I don't know that yet, haven't had a chance to do any research on it, but thought I'd see if any of you have seen anything like this? Quote: I drive an automatic 1995 Ford Ranger V-6. Whenever I turn on the AC or Heater my truck will accelerate up to 10 mph if my foot is not on the break. This happens about every 5 seconds while either the AC or Heater is running.
cbriggs
Ask him if the a/c works. I have seen trucks with low refrigerant charge (but still enough to cycle the compressor rapidly) do this. The engine compensates for the added load with the iac, but if the load isnt there it speeds up momentarily. Also check for sticking iac and vacuum leaks.
