Steve Mutter
3474 - 6.7L DIESEL - THE SUSPECT INJECTOR HOLD DOWN CLAMPS HAVE BEEN PURGED FROM SERVICE STOCK AND REPLACED WITH CERTIFIED STOCK. So is there going to be a recall for the faulty injector hold downs that are still on truck's ?

Considering the difference between changing some injector hold down clamps and major engine damage and repairs it might be a smart thing for Ford to do. Brad Clayton
I'm not really bothered by the fuel injectors coming out, it's the exhaust valves dropping into the cylinders that seems to be of some concern. Hearing lots and lots of these types of failures.

I wonder if the bad pr of another "ford diesel engine recall" would weigh in their decision on this?

Sadly, unlike the 6.4 injector recall, they have no way of tracking which went where. A recall would most likely mean replacing every hold down on all trucks affected, which may cost way to much to be feasible. If they feel the numbers are low enough there will not be a recall.
