I would be heading up the chain of command on that BS right there...

...or slash her tires at lunch

better yet find a nice little sensor to unplug before she heads home for the day.....better if she drives a ford and you pull the job to repair it

Alex, is this going to make you re-evaluate your decision to remain at this dealer?

No. The money is too good, even with her running interference.

However, I have been re-evaluating my future with FOMCO as a whole.

Today's run-in... I charged to machine a set of rotors AND replaced them on the same RO, as they machined undersize. Her response (the best one of heard of yet)... "When Ford looks at the training you have, they'll say you should have been able to tell the rotors would have machined undersize by looking at them".

Been there, done that.

Eventually, the dealer began to pay me for cutting the rotors if they went undersize, because for awhile, they ALL needed rotors after I got hooped on this once - We had a lathe that'd take .030 off each side in ONE PASS.

Didn't take much to kill a rotor with that thing.

I'd swap 'em on, and when I had a stack of 6 or 8 rotors sitting under my bench, I'd spend 20 minutes or so making 300ft long strands of brake rotor material, .030 thick at a time. Posted Image

Okay. Lesson learned. It's not all about the money! Posted Image

I see that you're back at Donway. Funny thing is, I've been offered a position at Yonge-Steeles Ford/Lincoln (the same Pakis that own East Court, Meadowvale and Freeway I think). I politely refused, due to "one of those feelings", and the fact that you're out of there only confirmed it.

That dealer group has a completely different demographic than I am used to. It's all about 3 things... 1. Volume... 2. Volume... and 3. Volume. In the mix of that, customer and employee satisfaction seems to take the back seat.

Volume is worthless if the dollars aren't there. Fixing 10 truck a day is no good if you dont get paid anything to do it! YSFL was looking for a foreman in Jan. if i recall. Any idea who picked that up? I thought about applying, but too far to drive, and I'm pretty happy here.
