EGR and Fan Clutch Operation

I keep reading comments every so often that unplugging the EGR valve on a 6.0L will affect the cooling fan operation. Is there any documentation or proof that supports this?

A guy I know runs his 03 with the valve unplugged. I'll have to ask him about it

I haven't heard the fan run on my truck yet

I have see and varified this with my truck an 06 with vxcf9 flash. its more a matter of the p0405 code and has little to do with weather the valve is in place or not. however you will get the p0405 with no valve.the best i could get out of active commanding my vdf was 1500rpm at 100% fanvar# with rpm 1200.

another tech also found the same thing as well at a different shop right around the same time.

both trucks were the same basic set up. no egr cooler and studed. this was using the stock program

also my truck is a 50 state calibration.

We have one in here with the EGR valve unplugged. He says since the last update the fan runs more than normal. It's a pumped up 2003.

keep in mind an 03/04 is a very differnt set of program files. like I said this is what I and one other found about the same time with vxcf9 in the 06/07 my
