DieselD
retarded question...what is the size of the glowplug? I cant for the life of me find the right size socket to get the thing out. Of course the WSM was no help and I dont see a ESST for it It will be interesting finding out what the root cause of this one is. Its a low power misfire/knock with 35k miles. cly 6 has the misfire and low relative. I hear knocking and a thump from the intake so might be one of the famous missing valves. None the less its coming apart but I wanted to get my gauage on it to double check but I cant get the damn glow plug out
Fordracer
I think it's 8mm. You need to use a craftsman or other cheep socket that has the flats cut deeper than a good socket so it will go on far enough to grab the hex on the glow plug. DieselD
I was thinking it was a 8mm but none of my sockets fit it which are all snapons. I will ask around the shop for a cheapo and see if that does the trick
Brad Clayton
The best fit is a craftsman 8 or 5/16, they don't have the shoulder in them that keeps the socket from going all the way on the glow plug.
Matt Saunoras
craftsman is all I found that will work. mac brought me 2 different deep sockets even the cheaper version had a shoulder. all I have is snap-on stuff lucky the asset kid had a freaking craftsman socket
