skidoo700
Have a 2003 f250 with 6.0 78,000 miles replaced head gaskets back in december, replaced 3 injectors at that time for running rough. Now it in the shop for a vibration, could not pick up a misfire with IDS. Found the crankcase way overfull. I drained out about 28 qts. Run the fuel pump with the plug out and has diesel dripping out. Removed all the glow plugs and inspected each cylinder seem to be dry. Where else can the fuel be coming from, was figuring that an injector was leaking, but does not seem to be the case(inspecting with borescope). HELP Lucky it didn't runaway. lmorris
2 ways, the upper injector body oring, the ones that seal the fuel system, may be leaking, or you have an injector leaking out the weap hole due to internal failure. Put some dye in the upper filter housing and run it for 15 minutes on high idle. Remove the valve covers look at each injector for signs of dye. skidoo700
In that case its not getting into the combustion chamber? I'll give that a shot thanks.
Bruce Amacker
You can also apply shop air to the fuel inlet ports on the front of the heads. At the flow you're having, hissing should be evident. The fitting you'll need is the same one for checking fuel pressure or air testing the HP on '05 up trucks. This might save you pulling the wrong valve cover.... Good Luck! skidoo700
Put dye in and pulled one cover, fricken dye everywhere. I'll try the air tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.
skidoo700
#6 injector, could not see an issue with the orings. Inspected the injector cup all looks good. Replaced injector and run fuel pump again. Stays dry now.
