Keith Browning
You know, those "Authorized Modifications" stickers we are told to put under the hood when performing some recalls, TSB's or reflashing... if required as WDS states? Does anybody know the real story behind these and what the rules really are? Is there any legal requirement to using them?
Jim Warman
We have been told that our provinve doesn't require them any more. We were ou of them at the time but have since restocked... Personally, this is the kind of info I would prefer to see in print on someones letterhead. I never look for or at these tags, anyway. The WDS or PDS can tell me quite quickly if a newer calibration is available... OASIS tells me if a campaign is open... I also think that testing stations are going to be a thing of the past. No codes and no P1000 will equal a pass.
Torqued_Up
I am not sure what the rule is or whether it has to do with any laws but I don't bother with them anymore. Like Jim stated, WE know what's been done to the vehicle just by looking at our databases like OASIS and vehicle history. As far as anybody else concerned, who cares? On some trucks, the entire underside of the hood would be covered with them!

FordMastertech
With all the re flashes on the 6.0Ls the stickers would be stacked up so high you would not get the hood to close. I don't bother with them or pay any attention to the ones that are installed. FMT
Torqued_Up
Doc I got a chuckle today after flashing a module and it DOES say "if required" so are we to ASSUME that ford doesn't expect us to put one on when we flash a module?
