Bruce Amacker
The IH guys on the board might enjoy these: HPOP: Pressure relief valve, set at about 4100PSI usually: Inlet check valve (to pump): Inlet check valve parts: Brass "lifter" (?) that doubles as the inlet check valve to the plunger assy: Cam/Lifter parts: Outlet check valve: IPR: Fuel pump: Injector stuff: The injector is just like a 6.0 with 30% of size added. The "crankcase" area of the HPOP is pressurized by the LPOP and the best I can figure out, the brass things act as inlet check valves by closing off the groove in the cam lobe as the plunger is pressurized. The IH books really don't cover anything inside the pump so these parts are never seen or covered. Comments are welcome.
DieselD
you must have one badass saw to cut those parts the way you do!
blown99
I have pushed several of the pressure reliefs out the side of the pump while performing a dead head test on the hpop. The maxforce pumps are set for around 6100psi. Thanks very much for the cutaways. Excellent job.

Keith Browning
Compared to drawings in a book the cutaway slides bring a better understanding to the hard parts found inside what are mostly non-serviceable components. For me, the picture of the injector really shows whats going on in the top of the injector with the spool valve and oil flow to the piston. It also makes it easy to "visualize" where and how stiction comes into play. As always, I love your cutaways! (old thread - ran into this one in my repairing of broken image links and I am enjoying a lot of what I am revisiting)
