djmiller
Did a good ol F350 Egr cooler/oil cooler/ intake clean up last week. Thing ran 150km and then dumped a boat load of oil. Removed the coolant outlet to the EGR cooler, fired it up. oil starts spewing up past the big lower o-ring on the cooler itslef, out and down the housing..... Doing the WHOLE thing all over..... boooo. Think the o-ring screwed off, or order up a cover for it as well. No crack visible from the outside. Keith Browning
A quick failure like that suggests a seal failure or an installation mishap. Like most diesel guys I would want to know what the heck happened as I am sue you do. Make sure the bolts were all tightened and so forth, etc. etc.... Shit happens. No crack visible from the outside.I have seen my share of oil cooler covers that had visible slight cracks on the undersides. These covers are made of monkey metal so care needs to be taken not to be too aggressive when pressing the old coolers out of the covers.
