mchan68
I read somewhere that for 2015 models, a bigger turbo is going in without a wastegate.
amailloux
Is looks like the new gt37 turbo will be a single compressor design also. I sure hope it has a rack position sensor.
amailloux
Does the vacuum harness fix these things, or should it get an actuator.
BigWalt
done quite few of them...vacuum line does not fixed the noise but it must be replaced before replacing the actuator.
amailloux
I installed the harness and the noise is gone completely. If the solenoid is a permanent repair, it would be far easier to install, and is only about 30 bucks more.
batmantech
The vac harness alone fixed one here too.
dieseldoc
Hey guys my 12' is making this noise, can even hear it when its running. I took it into my dealer and they contacted hotline and ford told them it is normal. How expensive is the actuator? I am not going to listen to my 60,000 dollar truck make this noise. Its a bad deal when you are the lone "ford guy" in dodge country and you stop somewhere and youre truck is groaning at key off. Guys give you a lot of shit for it. I guess I am not a believer in the " its normal" when it did not do it from new. thanks
Brad Clayton
Sounds like you need to find another dealer. We would have fixed your truck with a harness and or solenoid as needed if it was under warranty.
DieselD
There is a way to claim if the dealer wanted too. Try another place and raise enough hell if you need to. Its not a normal noise obviously as we have seen what fixes it
dieseldoc
Thanks guys i think i will give them the tsb number u guys listed and tell them to try again. I will push them to fix it.
dieseldoc
Well since I am not a ford dealer technician I am unable to access tsb. Would it be possible for you guys to post the tsb 13-10-07 that was refferenced earlier in the post so I could see what it has to say? I would like to have the facts before I call my dealer tomorrow and tell them they need to fix my truck. A little sad that I have to do the research for them but in there defense their long time diesel tech just retired due to physical problems so I will cut them a bit of slack for now. dieseldoc
Thanks Brad I wil be calling my service writer in the morning. According to the tsb my truck is a candidate for a harness or actuator. thanks again
Brad Clayton
No problem, I was in the chat room but I got like 10 windows open at the moment and forgot all about it. When I came back to it you had stopped by and I got the boot for inactivity.
Brad Clayton
Only dif I see is the vacuum line from the solenoid to the wastegate has been beefed up.
amailloux
I believe there is a metal restrictor about 2.5 inches from the waste gate. Where the green stripe Hose connects to the beefed up hose.
