Aaron
So, it's been awhile since I did coolers on a 6.0. When did the EGR kit stop coming with intake gaskets? I'm happy I noticed this before I started the job and was able to locate a pair. What gives there? Or did I just get something boxed wrong? mchan68
When the part number changed from AH to AJ was when they stopped being shipped with intake gaskets.
lmorris
If you read the service manual you will see the added line: Inspect intake gaskets and replace if necessary, gaskets are re-usable.
Aaron
For $30 for the pair, I'll just change em out. Warranty cost savings I'm sure. Not sure who they had do the welding on the cooler I installed but half of the welding was done at too low of a voltage, too low of a wire speed, and the other half was done with no gas. Spatter and porosity everywhere. Sad.
DieselD
Its been at least a year if not more since that happened. I still change them regardless.
Matt Saunoras
AJ now has a core charge too. I agree these coolers look pretty shitty in the weld category.
