6.0 Manual Transmission Oil Pan Removal

Got thrown a 04 F350 in need of a oil pan. Its a 4+4 with a manual trans. Does anybody know if the pan can be replaced without removing the trans? I've heard the automatic 6.0 can be jacked up but I'm not sure on the manuals. I was talking to Brad Clayton this afternoon and HE couldn't remember! Posted Image

Perhaps wait to see if anybody else has any input. The reason for the transmission removal is due to the fact you need to remove the rear cover from the engine to get the oil pan out. Maybe somebody has a trick for you, as I have worked on very few manual trans. 6.0s, and oil pan removal has not crossed my path too many times.

I had an incident with a 6.0L automatic involving a floor jack... I did not remove the transmsion to replace that oil pan. I jacked the engine up and out it came.

Automatics are a breeze. It's manuals that are a PITA.
