blown99
This is on my own 2002 f350 with a 7.3l. Every once in a blue moon after a warm start up, the glow plug light does not go off. I key off and restart and the light stays off. What should I check for? Should I even worry about it? Of course when it happens I don't have a meter to check the glow plug solenoid to see if it is sticking (although I don't think it is as it is only a few months old, starts with no smoke). Jim Warman
The wait to start lamp is controlled by the PCM independently of the GPR... If the lamp is staying on, you have a concern with the cluster, wiring or PCM. I've found one truck with an open between the PCM and the bulkhead connector... Keith Browning
In addition to that I found a TSB that applies to your truck for your exact concern. TSB 03-4-5. The bulletin states to replace the instrument cluster. I know that they system and indicator works just like the Internationals you work on but I don't know how your clusters work. Ford Instrument cluster are a multifunction module that is not serviceable. You can order an exchange through a dealer but you will have to lay the vehicle up because the mileage is programmed before the cluster is sent to the dealer.
