Aaron
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRnZatjGPqs&feature=youtu.be I like the engine stand in the background. The blocks of wood? Sharp.
Aaron
Broke a head stud? No problem. Drill it. Not happening? Smear some silicone on that shit and jam 'er in the hole. Call 'er done. Work done by our fine friend at powerstroke help. Caption away, fellows: He's gonna stick it in THERE... And it's gonna be THIS BIG when he's done! And afterwards, he's going to make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Aaron
That particular engine was repaired at River City Diesel. The owner has stated on public forums that Mr. Hewitt was the wizard behind that debacle.

The owner has stated on public forums that Mr. Hewitt was the wizard behind that debacle. This ought to be good. I really want to be one of the flies on the wall when this shit hits the fan!!! Wow, I've had more than my share of hackery rolling onto my doorstep in my years of wrenching, but THIS has got to be the most monumental of them all. Jim Warman
This how big yer wallet is when we start. And this is how big it's gonna be when we're done. If ya want it to run, it might cost a bit more....

Alex Bruene
Hey. Wassup? I just tried to comment on that video, but I don't it'll get through.
mchan68
Not to derail this thread, and definitely not to excuse the workmanship (or lack thereof), but the more I look at that pic, the more I wonder if this is an example of block distortion that I vaguely recall reading about? What I'm referring to of course, is the answer to why FoMoCo doesn't officially endorse installing head studs into these engines. Just by virtue of the fact that the stud in the pic in this post DID break leaves me questioning the tensile strength that everyone proclaims to be much greater than the factory TTY bolts. Or did the breakage occur during removal attempt, which I would find rather odd since they are only installed finger tight into the block? DwayneGorniak
If this was early in the beginning of his 6.0L expertise and professionalism as the world bestest online trainer for internet 6.0L army recruits, maybe he forgot to read that wee little piece of paper that has the torque procedure and specs for the studs and torqued them the factory way stretching them three times with a 3/4" impact. That may have been before he became a professional secret mustard smear sandwich applicator. Jus sayin! Have any of you thought of startin up a fan page for him on Facebook? I bet Alex would be all in for that.I think that could be allot of fun!
Aaron
I betcha he torqued the stud using the specs for the stock bolts looking at the way that shit broke, and then wouldn't come out of the block.

lmorris
I am curious about how he, and only he, managed to procure that special German Engineered coating all for himself. You would think they would mass market it before giving it to this guy.

Keith Browning
Since when is the right bank the "even cylinders?" I am still trying to understand the infatuation with mocking this guy. Somethimes I feel it brings us down to his level. This is probably the first and only video he has made that hits home... so to speak. We have discussed this topic many times.
