Aaron
Legalized robbery. Got my renewal. $2116/yr - $176 a month. Called my wife's company. $1109 a year for the remainder of her policy (which is March). $92.41 a month. After March, the policy cost for March 2013 to March 2014 is. Sit down. EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS, OR 72 FREAKING DOLLARS A MONTH. How is that even possible? A SIXTY percent drop in rate, for changing companies?! We get 15 points off for multi vehicle, and 15 points off for multi driver. That's a difference of 30 percent - so where does the other 30 percent go? Theft...Absolute theft. I switched from Economical to the Co-Operators, for those keeping score at home. $1248 dollar savings a year, just with a phone call. Unreal. Alex Bruene
I did something similar about 2 years ago. I was insured with Dominion Canada, but my rates sky-rocketed for no apparent reason. I called to ask why, and they said the rates were going up across the board. Made some calls. Switched to TD insurance for a 50% decrease, and my insurance has gone down even more since. It pays to shop around.
Aaron
The question I can't stand, is when they ask if you have taken Driver's Ed. Uh, yeah. Like 14-15 years ago when I got my license, and don't ask me for the certificate, because I'm sure it's tucked safely away with my autographed copy of the bible and my collection of antique paintings. Aaron
The funny part is... My insurance is cheaper even parking in a parking lot at an apartment building than it ever was parked in my private garage or driveway Hell, my insurance is now cheaper than it was when I lived in Hay River.
