Alex Bruene
Good day, Gentlemen... and I use that term with the utmost respect! I'm just wondering if any of you fine individuals have run in to this before. I have a 6.7 equipped F-550 out on the road that will periodically lose HS-CAN communication. The truck will miraculously regain communication during my inspection, and I've never been able to figure out what I did to make it regain communication. I've tried multiple times to duplicate the loss of communication-but never with any success. The truck will drive for a week or 2, then get towed back in with the same symptoms. Any experience you guys might have with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Alex Bruene
Nevermind... I found a partially broken wire under the drivers side sill plate. Thanks for nothing!
mchan68
Nevermind... I found a partially broken wire under the drivers side sill plate. Thanks for nothing! If you don't mind sharing, where exactly did you find this wire? Was it a defect (as in improperly routed and rubbed through), or customer induced damage? I played with one a while back that the customer installed an aftermarket trailer brake control and unknowlingly created an open in the network: http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=43197#Post43197
Matt Saunoras
I had one of my own that a customer drilled through a "very important" ground wire while installing a CB radio
