Bruce Amacker
I got several errors in the last couple of days that I'm not familar with. Can anyone tell me what they mean? I think this one was trying to program a 6.4 PCM: These two were after installing 84.03 and restarting IDS. It would not start IDS, and I had to roll back the PC to an earlier date to uninstall the update. I reinstalled the update and it "seems" OK now. When I pressed the "abort IDS startup" button, I got this: I did have a live internet connection when this occurred. Any comments are appreciated. Keith Browning
Oh damn! I remember running into this a lot about a year ago on both my IDS and our shop's. It's obviously a communications driver error but I forget what the fix was or even if there is a fix that you can effect. I vaguely remember it going away on it's own... I'll snoop around on PTS and Rotunda sites. Which VCM version are you using? Are you using the wireless? That is your PC's operating system? Bruce Amacker
Capture 1- brand new ASUS netbook, Win 7, VCM2 wireless, backed out and retried and it worked. Caps 2+3, older Win XP Pro, no VCM attached. Thanks! Off topic: Was demoing the client's Modis to show him everything it won't do, 6.4 STFT's all OK under 3. Unplugged the Modis, plugged in an IDS, had one STFT at +11-12!
Keith Browning
Okay, I found a document that addresses this exact concern. I remember these instructions having mixed results but it it's worth trying. See the attached PDF document.
Matt Saunoras
Your second screen shot I had happen to our IDS about a month ago while updating. Had to back date the computer to uninstall the update. A few weeks ago I updated to the latest and it's been fine ever since.
Alex Bruene
I've rarely seen 1. But when I do, I just reboot. The 2 and 3 I only ever see if I try to start IDS immediately after a reboot... Wait 2 minutes and it works.

mchan68
Just curious. Is anyone else having issues with software updating? Currently, I'm trying to install version 85.05 on my latop and it keeps giving me that stupid pop-up window telling me IDS cannot be installed while Internet Explorer is open. But I don't have it open, and everytime I click YES to continue it keeps popping back up. Now, when I attempt to open IDS, I get that stupid pop-up screen depicted in the second photo of Bruce's post.
