lmorris
Other than some slight scraping on the bottom of the piston, there was no other damage to the engine.
mrbudge
I know you know this, but check the exhaust valves for cracking. The engine we did with a bent rod ended up being a long block because of that, and it had no miles on it. Our rod was also bent sideways, cocked the piston in the bore and scuffed it up. Aaron
Sooo... What's Ford telling you the fix is?
Aaron
Hang a rod and piston in it and ship it?
Brad Clayton
You not paying attention or what? They all get long blocks!
lmorris
This was caused by a bad injector. No pistons available, so we are short blocking it.
