batmantech
2011 mustang GT500 svt 5,000 miles good friend of sales dept. EFFECTIVE DATE: 13-NOVEMBER-2012 Well I get the old there has to be a fix, his buddy had the clutch packs done and the noise was gone... The part number is still the same no update. Any one have any thoughts on this? I don't see a way around the ssm.
Aaron
If you put the early style clutches in it, not the carbon fiber ones, the noise will likely go away. That's probably what happened with his buddy's car. The only way you'd be able to replace the clutches is if the car spun only one wheel in snow/ice/mud. Have you tried adding more friction modifier? The later model (13-up, if I recall rightly) went to a Torsen style locker in the rear end, I will double check at work tomorrow, this would be a permanent (albeit expensive) repair avenue. Aaron
Lucas makes a good rear axle dope, combined with the Ford Friction Modifier I've had really good luck.
batmantech
I was wondering about adding more friction modifier. I have had good luck with that also but I did'nt know if these carbon fiber type would respond the same as say an F-150. Thanks Aaron! Aaron
I've never actually heard it, but most of the cars I work on have aftermarket exhaust. The newer cars with the torsen axle have even louder exhaust in the Super Snake package than the older super snakes. It's borderline TOO loud with headers, high flow cats, and the borla straight through mufflers. They're like a dynomax race bullet, but louder. It's almost obscene. Pretty chatty at 7000 RPM on the dyno though.
batmantech
I think a vacation is in order. I could shadow you at work and of course preform all test drives.

Aaron
Sweet deal. It makes me laugh when people buy a factory hot rod and the performance updates cause NVH, then there's complaints about it. LOL I still can't get over guys with the 13's that need to upgrade past 662HP... Or the fact that the factory driveline & clutch can hack it at 850 wheel horsepower. jimmy57
Lift kits and then complaints of hard steering, steering box wear, and vibration.......
batmantech
Aaron you said it. It makes me laugh when people buy a factory hot rod and the performance updates cause NVH, then there's complaints about it. LOL I had that same conversation with sales dept. They just looked at me funny. Then got the old "guy is almost out of warranty" You have to do something.
