ktmlew
Anyone find a glue that will hold the tracks on the glass?

ktmlew
use windshield urethane. I wasn't sure if that would work. Have seen some suggestions on the net about limiting the ability of the rear glass track/mounts ability to rotate itself off the glass when it hits the stop? I hate working on window crap. The customer never wants to spend any money and the metal always is sharp as a razor...I almost lost a couple fingers on one (Windstar?) when I didn't get the regulator clamped properly before drilling out some rivets. vloney
You have to glue them down in the same spots as original to allow full "swing" of the regulator.

Been there done that, that's scary as hell. As for the glue, use 3M body shop panel adhesive. It's a binary liquid, like epoxy but after 3 minute clamp time, that shit isn't going ANYWHERE. Good to know I'm not the only one. I vividly remembered changing out a window regulator on a '98 Windstar some time back in 2001 at one dealer I worked at. Just about the exact same scenario you described, happened to me too. It sure left a nice trail of blood as I held it, trying to get to a first aid kit as fast as I could at the time. Five stiches later and I was back in the game the next day. I never forgot that one.

I found that last night. Thought I had posted about it but apparently not. http://solutions.3m.com.sg/wps/portal/3M...Pgl1QQQVNZR2Fbl On my Windstar dealio, had my fingers in a hole about 6 feet back from the regulator...still too close! It stretched the ligaments in my LH index finger that took a couple years to heal. Coulda been worse!
Aaron
I had a weak moment today and undid the motor and yanked it off a regulator out of a 2003-ish mustang. I'm glad my fingers weren't in the track anywhere, because I'd likely still be sitting at the hospital, bleeding.
