Keith Browning
WOWEE! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif TSB 06-19-6 6.0L - MIL ON - P0401, P0402, P0404, P1335, LACK OF POWER, OR SURGE. EGR VALVE CLEANING PROCEDURE. Well if that's not a policy reversal for sure! It makes sense and a lot of owners seem to have been successfully cleaning their valves for a while. The difference is that by the time WE see a valve that needs cleaning, it actually does need cleaning or it's completely clogged up. My only question is what to do with a valve that shows heavy exhaust leaks from the weep holes?
Jim Warman
I think I read that exhaust from the weep holes was a "normal" condition. Up until the valve can't hardly move any more. A couple of years back, we tried cleaning some when the valves were hard to get... all we got from that was repeat repairs.... Maybe if they got cleaned BEFORE the CEL turned on..... But then there'd be no reason to clean them.
