batmantech
Looking for a "belt chrip noise" on this 09 with 82,900 miles. Was in before verified belt chirp replaced the a/c belt and tensioner chirp gone. One week later its back. Outer tensioner was replaced a few months ago. Removed both belts still has chirp squeak noise, mostly from right side ,loudest at right front cover area. No codes- runs fine- power balance even no change when cancel cylinders. Seams to be gone above 1,100 rpm's. Any thoughts on this would be great.

Steve Mutter
Take a look at the oil filter and see if you find metal.

Just by virtue of the information highlighted in bold red above, you've already answered your own question and narrowed down the source to something INSIDE the engine. My vote is for a seized/failed roller lifter too.
jpete
Exhaust manifold bolts broken? We have one in the shop now. RH rear port had 2 broken studs. The force of exhaust through the MLS gasket sounded like a bearing squeal. Soapy water confirmed the leak.

Alex Bruene
The fuzz on the drainplug magnet will pretty quickly identify a seized lifter and worn cam... That's fo' shizzle!
Aaron
I like to call them self grinding cam lobes.
batmantech
Getting back on this thing now, thanks for the direction. I was leaning toward internal/lifter rocker noise, just based on what I have read here. Funny thing now after sitting the noise is gone again. hotline response, is similar ,cam, lifter, or short block.
Bruce Amacker
Oil analysis might be more exact, Napa/Wix pn 4077. Good Luck!
batmantech
Pulled valve cover used chassis ears, noise loudest at front and back on rh side. Found rollers worn on front and rear lifter, cam worn, some lifters hard to get out. Replacing short block. Thanks again everyone!
