Brad Clayton
A warning to heed for sure: 21643 STEERING/SUSPENSION SERVICE TIP - DEPOWER EPASSOME 2011 F-150 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH EPAS (ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING) MAY REQUIRE STEERING SYSTEM OR FRONT SUSPENSION SERVICE. THE EPAS STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY MAY BE DAMAGED IF ANY STEERING/SUSPENSION COMPONENTS/FASTENERS ARE SUBJECTED TO A HAMMER BLOW OR AN IMPACT WRENCH DUE TO ARCING OF THE CONTACTS IN AN INTERNAL POWER RELAY EVEN WHEN THE IGNITION IS OFF. DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICALPOWER TO THE EPAS MODULE BEFORE PERFORMING ANY STEERING/SUSPENSION SERVICE. POWER CAN BE INTERRUPTED BY DISCONNECTING THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR C1463A. IF THE SYSTEM IS NOT DEPOWERED PRIOR TO SERVICE, AN EPAS WARNING MAY BE DISPLAYED IN THE MESSAGE CENTER ALONG WITH DTC U3000:49 WHICH REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF THE EPAS ASSEMBLY. Jim Warman
This almost sounds like experience talking? There is just way too much to remember any more. Seems like you need to run OASIS for EVERYTHING. I wonder what a loose tie rod end on a rough road could do?
mchan68
I wonder what a loose tie rod end on a rough road could do? ....... or a "loose cannon" in a shop will do.
