Ficm
Hey guys, I have only dealt with OEM fuel injectors, just out of curiosity how does one tell the difference from aftermarket fuel injector? I know from previous observations that original OEM fuel injectors have got black clip at top of harness and remanufactured Ford fuel injectors have got grey clips. Thank you for your input. Keith Browning
I don't think that the wire tie color is a good indicator at all. For example, Alliant Power 6.0L injectors can have white, grey or black ties depending on their part numbers. I would look on the injector body for laser etching that will help you potentially identify an injector. OEM has a specific marking, I know Alliant has their own marking and it's quite conceivable that others will have some identifiable marking as well. blown99
If you look at the body of the ford injector above the area that the hold down clamp sits in; it is etched with the word REMAN and a number. All of the aftermarket injectors will have machined the word REMAN out of the body. The finish is rougher (looks like it was spun on a lathe with a rough pass) Also the pass through connector - OEM's have an orangish yellow bar code, most of the aftermarkets have no bar code. Aaron
I got aftermarket ones stamped reman with the yellow barcode the other day. From Alliant power.
