forddieseldoctor
I'm thinking that with the amount of stuff I've been doing at home that I should invest in a diesel compression gauge. Anyone have any experience with anything other than the Ford one? And are all of the quick connect fittings the same or do the different brands use their own? Buddy_M
I bought the 6.0/6.4 adapter and a cheap compression gauge set off ebay.. learned the hard way the couplers are not the same. Used one of the adapters in the ebay kit, and drilled & tap one end to 1/8 NPTF and threaded it to the compression adapter. Seems to read a little lower than it should due to the added volume I imagine, but have had it on known good engines so I know what to expect on good/bad engines. Brad Clayton
http://store.snapon.com/Diesel-Compression-Gauge-Gauge-Diesel-Compression-0-800-PSI-P649855.aspx One of the best gages on the market, I've had this one for years. I have the 7.3 and 6.0 adapters with it but no 6.7 adapter yet.
Matt Saunoras
That's the same tester I have. Been through one gauge and one 6.0/6.4 adapter but I do use it a lot. I don't have the 6.7 adapter either, I use the shops
