Bruce Amacker
I have a student trying to install a SEIC into a new 6.7 F450, he has sucessfully installed this on other trucks but cannot get this one to work. I hate to ask this without better info but is there someting different on some trucks that won't allow SEIC to work? "I am unable to get it to work, I have done it on other pickups and it worked but on this F450 it won’t. I hooked the BCP SW (Violet with a brown strip) to a upfitter switch, with the park brake and nothing happens." Thanks, guys.
Keith Browning
I get the impression by what is written here that he may not have done this correctly. Does he have a copy of the BBA bulletin Q-180-R4 that covers this in entirety? I have attached it here for you as well as bulletin Q-218 for gasoline engines. lmorris
The 6.7L MUST have a resistor to work. Here is how I do it. Run power to Yellow/green PTO REQ1. Splice in a 15K ohm, for 1250-ish RPM, resistor between White/brown PTO REF and Green PTO RPM. Good to go. Works on all 6.7L trucks regardless of config. He must be thinking of the older 6.4L and 6L, as they require no resistor to hit 1250 RPM.
