Keith Browning
I don't remember seeing much of this at all over most of the last four years. But recently I have noticed with more SCR system faults reductant coating the tailpipe tips. Not overly surprising but interesting. The reductant mixer and SCR looked okay from inside. Inspecting for heavy crystallization is easy with a boreoscope and basically impossible without. I have also had complaints of an ammonia odor. Never used to get that either. Looks like the moon against the backdrop of my blue roll cart lid.
Steve Mutter
Does it seem to be just on pick ups or cab and chassie's or both?
Keith Browning
Chassis Cabs so far. Good question.
Steve Mutter
I guess you would see it more with the chassis cabs because the reductant injector is at the end of the conga line, Pick ups might hide this in the dpf.
Chase
I would say maybe a chassis cab that doesn't get worked hard enough to get the exhaust hot might do that as well.
lmorris
Possibly related, I've been talking to a lot of customers that have said they go through more DEF since the 14e03 updates.
