Keith Browning
This is fucking elegant. With some of the difficulties we already have diagnosing this engine this is the ultimate obfuscation. You cant make this shit up! Jun 2 2016 3194 - 2016 F-Super Duty 650/750 - 6.7L Diesel – Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated Without Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)Some 2016 F-Super Duty 650/750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit MIL illumination without any DTCs received from the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS). This may be due to the powertrain control module (PCM) unintentionally clearing DTCs during session creation. Engineering is working to resolve the concern. If DTCs have been cleared, recreate the concern and perform self test with the existing session. Initial DTC clearing can be avoided by starting IDS sessions using a tear tag. From the IDS main menu, select Manual Vehicle Entry, choose “All other” vehicles, and enter tear tag KXN2. Confirm the vehicle description and enter the VIN or RO number to maintain identification of the vehicle’s session. Retrieve and record DTCs as necessary. Do not use this IDS session for any purpose other than self-test.
