1994 id glow plug controller question

1994 7.3 idi turbo Intermitent dead batt.  Found glow plug relay stays on at times.

Had a new controller assy. few months back. I did verify the relay stays on with key off , unhooked all other connections on relay it still stayed on. Then hook it all back up with out touching anything and it will work ok for a few days.

I have a new controller assy. ordered

I'm just throwing this out there to ask if anyone has seen it before? Or other thoughts

That uses the round vertical controller and spade GPs, right?  I think that system is quite troublesome (a PITA) and always updated them to the GP module behind the air cleaner and the bullet tip GPs.  It's quite simple, the obvious components and female bullet connectors to crimp on the wires.

Used to change just the relay quite often for either glow plugs not working or staying on.
