Brad Clayton
SSM 46329 - 2017 F-Super Duty - Pickup Only - Loss Of MS-CAN Communication And/Or Other Various Symptoms Due To Upfitter Pickup Box Removal Some 2017 F-Super Duty vehicles where the pickup box has been removed due to amodification, may exhibit various symptoms due to loss of communication on the medium speed controller area network (MS-CAN). Additional symptoms such as climate control system inoperative, front control interface module (FCIM) controls inoperative and/or the headlamps remaining on at all times may also be present. This may be due to C408 being disconnected and interrupting the MS-CAN network when the pickup box was removed. To repair, install jumper harness part #HC3Z-13A409-J into C408, located at the RH rear of the frame. This repair is required as part of the modification(s) and considered non-warrantable. tonybullitt
I haven't gotten jumper harness yet but it looks like I could pull pins out of c408 and connect the wires. When not equipped with blis the box harness just loops the ms can wires.
tonybullitt
I jumped the pins for ms can and everything works.
tonybullitt
Harness showed up. It appears to be a cab and chassis harness.
tonybullitt
On this truck I connected the ms can wires together and heat shrunk them. They are going to put the harness in on the rest of the trucks they are doing.
tonybullitt
We have another customer that got a pickup wants box removed for flatbed. Removed box today plugged in this harness no issues. Truck is equipped with reverse camera. I got parts to order in cab and chassis reverse camera kit pluged right into the harness I added when box came off. I will get the camera kit# and picture tomorrow
tonybullitt
I had told customer I could make camera work but might have to cut and splice. Pretty cool to be able to simply plug in and mount camera. Camera bracket is a little cheesy but still awesome available

tonybullitt
SSM 46512 - 2017 F-Super Duty – Pickup Only - IPC Turn Signal Indicator Flashes Fast When Pickup Box Removed For Upfitter - No Inoperative Bulbs Some 2017 F-Super Duty pickups may exhibit an instrument panel cluster (IPC) turn signal indicator that flashes fast with no inoperative turn signal lamps after the pickup box has been removed by the upfitter. This may be due to the body control module (BCM) not recognizing the modified lower current turn signal lighting that was installed. To correct this concern, use Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool version 104.04 or later to configure turn lamp outage settings as required. Under toolbox > module programming > programmable parameters > exterior lighting, select rear bulb turn outage and outage ABM and change the setting on each parameter from outage to no outage. Changes to lamp outage settings on pickups as a result of upfitter modifications are non-warrantable. Upfitters are responsible for FMVSS 108 compliance.
