Keith Browning
I was working on a new 2017 Transit that has an SCR efficiency code. Pinpoint tests have you monitor the NOx sensors, close the EGR valve and so on. Well, using the WSM and the guided diagnostics, the bidirectional control would not work. So O closed the WSM and tried the test with IDS and I got the PID control back but the NOx sensors would not show a reading. I was supposed to raise the idle to get EGT 12 up to 392*F but it never got there so I am not sure if that was causing that. I have seen NOx modules not come on line until certain EGT readings were met on F-Series so I am assuming that was it. I later had to road test to check the NOx reduction at steady cruise and I DID have NOx 11 and 12 display. Some of this stuff is really trying my patience.
