Keith Browning
2015 F550 comes in with CEL coming on and going off. Not on now. I get the P132B and P2073 out of continuous memory, performed pinpoint test J because you diag EGR or air management codes first. Passes the first 9 tests and instructs me to replace the EGR valve. I dont necessarily like replacing parts on a truck that has no verifiable symptoms but I cant do nothing. I looked through the self help section of the Hotline Form anf the one report with this DTC indicated there was also an intermittent check engine light and P2073 which the tech stated a new EGR valve did correct. Anyone run into this code before? Just curious as we don't see much of this.
KDS
Keith, i just read PP "J" I use a slightly different test for EGR operation/integrity. I select EGR Cmd MAF Flow, not Hz EGR BP I close the EGR and watch the MAF. Should be over 30. Often 33-35. Then I command the EGR fully open, I like to see MAF drop to below 10. I will open and close the bypass to verify good flow thru the cooler. Of course that is a hot side EGR valve. Might be more prone to issues. Keith Browning
EGR Valve fixed it. When I got it off and put a bright light in it you could see light around the seat. Despite no codes specifically related to the valve it had to be not closing fully intermittently.
