Keith Browning
Well now I did it! I was updating the ECM on a 2014 F750 with a Cummins ISB 6.L CM2350. The process failed at 2% due to communication loss. Now I can't connect to the ECM to restore it or retry. I have the ECM image but if I can't connect... Anyone ever have this happen and know how to connect and program this thing now? I hate calling Cummins... PITA!
Keith Browning
Apparently my INLINE-6 cable between the adapter and the PC is causing communication problems. Moved it around and got it connecting again but now we have to buy a calibration.
RyanG
That sucks Keith. I thought Cummins did not allow Ford dealers to perform this kind of work. During the very short time that we were a authorized Cummins dealer, we had an ecm issue on an ambulance and were told that only a Cummins dealer could do any kind of replacement or programming issues dealing with Cummins specific modules. Keith Browning
We are a Cummins service dealer plus we sell medium trucks so we need to be able to service the trucks equipped with Cummins engines. our ability to recalibrate/program ECM's is related to the INSITE software level that you purchase. We have an INSITE Pro license which will let you do that.
