kevin phillips Posted January 6, 2007 Share Posted January 6, 2007 have a straight gear zf trans with a terrible shake at idle,anyone seen a dual mass flywheel on a 6.0 all the ones i've seen are not but it shakes like one touch the throttle and it goes away then comes back. any ideas it feels like a bad miss but leaves under load Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BillWiebe Posted January 6, 2007 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Just replaced adual mass flywheel on early build 04 f550. Dampening springs in flywheel were breaking up and causing a rattle noise and contributing to a rough idle. Current ford parts catalog now lists a change up to a one piece flywheel. Appears that there is no more dual mass flywheels available; at least in canada. BTW the damaged dual mass had over 1.5" of freeplay. Jim Warman Posted January 6, 2007 Share Posted January 6, 2007 For some reason, early 450/550 (and, possibly 350DRW - can't remember) came with dual mass flywheels.
