mchan68
This is my truck. Just this last week, it has began howling as though it's stuck at 100% duty cycle all the time. Has anyone else ran into this? My truck is not overheating either. No DTCs. Just a straightforward fan clutch replace and life should be good? forddieseldoctor
Yup. Had one do it on a chassis cab during the road test after replacing the radiator. Just make sure the commanded duty cycle is at 0ish.
Keith Browning
I've had a couple myself... just roaring away for no reason.
8WA Sman
If it does it with connector unhooked it has to be something in the clutch. Also check the fan mount pulley for play, wobble and noisy bearing.
Brad Clayton
I have replaced a ton of these fan clutches on the 6.7's
leavnon3rd
ive done a lot of clutches, straight forward. I leave the shroud in and unbolt the fan from the clutch. be careful witht he harness and connector attached to the long 13mm w/p bolt

Bonus that this part was under warranty too.
