tonybullitt
Friend of mine has an early 04 that he says runs good doesn't make any boost. He put a turbo on it made sure the map hose is not plugged still no boost. I told him see if it learns vgt and he said it has now. He took down pipe loose made no difference. Any other ideas I can throw out to a guy with some experience and a snap on scanner? Short of bring it in to me

mchan68
MAF sensor and/or circuit good?
tonybullitt
The new turbo came with a vgt and he swapped one out of another truck no difference. No idea on maf sensor so I would say no he hasn't done anything with it
cbriggs
Just cracking the exhaust isn't enough to rule out a plugged cat. I know..... Need to completely unhook and get the back pipe out of the way. Or do a back pressure test.
cbriggs
Also inspect the intercooler for blown off ends.
