Mike Jeanotte
Have a 2006 F-250 18,000miles has almost no heat at idle about 85-100deg outlet at the vent. Rev engine up and get good heat almost imediatly It has been below 0deg for a while around here. This is when the problems showed up. Had low flow through heater core tried new t-stat heater core and a water pump talked to hotline about 5 times. Talked to our FSE and our area 6.0l guy. They both called everyone they knew unable to get any help. Anyways with heater hoses unhooked we were checking flow with a known good one. had no flow through heater hoses at idle. Removed front cover found the upper holes in block that is the return out of the block were plugged shut with casting flashing. Was able to break casting loose with hammer and punch. The part that really amazed me is that this cant be the only one out there. Everyone out there I talked to didnt have any good diagnosis leading to problem. So if anyone has one.......
