GregH
This may have been discussed before, but I wanted to relate you about the vehicle I just finished up. Coolant loss from the orange EGR cooler hose on an 04 F-250. I tried a new method today that I've been kicking around in my head for a while. Remove hot side CAC tube, disengage EGR cooler hose from oil cooler outlet, push hose back onto EGR cooler to allow room, remove 2 T-30 bolts on outlet cover, remove cover and outlet. Slide EGR cooler hose off. Reassemble in reverse order. Lost 1/2 gallon of coolant, took about 1 hour to do, and the hardest part was sliding the hose back onto the outlet. Part numbers involved: 3C3Z-9N693-EA, 3C3Z-9N693-FA, 4C4Z-8592-AA. Sorry if it's ben discussed here before... I'm stoked about it...
DamageINC
Yep. Some dumbass on the FMC messageboards posted that method too, about 2 days ago... I hope the "wrong" people don't get a hold of it. That poor guy is going to have a mob after him if the SLTS for that hose goes down. Tony302600
we made a special tool just for that i'll take a pic of it also its perfect for the t30 torx's when doing passenger side injectors, its awesome. Also we customized a tool for ICP sensors on 03, early 04 to aid removal, it was so good our matco guy sent it to the R&D guy and they are making a prototype for us to try out. I hate that other message board ( ford one ) too many complaining how much they hate ford, i only work on diesels because no1 in my shop wants to and they paid me hella lot more to work on em. honest truth i like em better.
