OHNO60 Posted March 1, 2007 Share Posted March 1, 2007 WHAT IS THE "RULE OF THUMB" YOU GUYS USE FOR MONITORING THE IPR PID WHILE DRIVING/PERFORMANCE DIAG?I HAD ONE THAT ON WOT OR HEAVY ACCEL CLIMBED TO 78-79%, TRUCK RUNS GREAT GREAT POWER,ETC. If your brave enough to keep it to the wood you can see it go all the way to 85% and be doing 107 mph pulling a grade in a crew cab 350 and feel it run out of fuel. That translated into just over 4000 psi. You can also achieve the same effect at WOT 3400 rpm hold MAN 3 and stand on the brakes and fuel loading the engine to 2500 rpm, should go to 83-85% and around 4000 psi. One thing is for certain if the HPOP is going to fail this is when it will happen. 25 to 80% seems normal but there are lots of variables to IPR duty cycle.
