wireless VCM

I got the plans to create a setup to make the IDS VCM wireless from a tech in Fla He is offered the plans for free to anybody that wants them but requests that if you use them to make a setup like his you make a $15 donation to the juvenile diabetes fund.

I'll happily pass them on over here but I feel that his request for a donation is more than fair and a good cause.

Keith if you want I'll e-mail them to you and you can post them here.

the parts required will cost you about $80 and some time.

I plan on setting one up not having to deal with that stupid 20 ft IDS cable sounds great to me.

Awsome, I quizzed Ford on this when the Ids inroduction Fordstar broadcast came out. But they had a brain fart and didn't have a clue what I was talking about. The fifteen bucks is well worth it and goes to a great cause.

Wow. Thats a little involved but cool non the less. I was looking at our VCM and removed that clear plastic cover. I looked inside and fond that looks like a PCMCIA card slot. Perhaps a wireless PC card could be installed and the VCM configured to make it work. A simple ad-hoc connection to your PC or Notebook is all that you should need. I wonder if this was considered while developing the tool... but I don't know what that connector is actually for so this is pure speculation.

That would be way too easy and would have been a smart option to add. You might say that it would have been one of Fords notorious better ideas.
