Holy crap Jim, What a thread! I was in the IAM union when I was at Cummins and didn't have much in the way of support from the union. It may have been a good thing to be in years ago, but now I don't think so. Let's face it mother Ford and every other supposed to be domestic manufacturer is bringing in parts from other countries, it's no longer a buy american made but buy a american assembled vehicle if it's even assembled here in the states or in Canada. Here's a thought there is North America and South America does South America count as American made? I commend you on that thread you were on very well thought out and to the point, not a bunch of blaa-blaa.....

WOW Jimmy you got a real fan there huh? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbup.gif
FWIW I agree with you, flying directly against natural selection where the slowest and weakest are the first to go unions only serve to protect the weakest of the heard by dragging the rest down to there level.
Also just because a "tech" can pass paper tests like ASE or what ever you Canucks have and become "qualified" still doesn't mean they can fix a sandwich! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer2.gif you know the SR.master diesel tech that puts two # 2 injectors in trying to fix the #5 missfire. Better yet a turbo, map sensor, egr valve, and two days for a no power concern that turned out to just needed a cold side CAC tube. And I almost forgot the E4OD trans that he replaced because he couldn't diag the blown fuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like this pic

WOW! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cover.gif

With that kind of anger it had to be from the FRT web site. Hey, do you still have to pay to use that site or have they opened it back up again? I haven't had much time to cruise all of the diesel sites in a long time. I kinda miss that site, minus the anger.

Ayup.... you can do a lot of things in life - just don't express a contrary opinion when it comes to a trade union... who cares if the line between unionism (is that a word?) and communism is a little blurry sometimes...

Techs can get into FRT for free, civilians still have to pay.... Since traffic has all but dried up, they decided to resurrect the idea of 6literpowerstroke.com with a clone. http://www.fordpowerstrokeforums.com/forums/ is also low traffic. If you go there, click on 6.0 bible at the top of the page. Cheeky devils have linked to the Ford corporate website....

Cheeky devils have linked to the Ford corporate website....

I noticed that a while ago, the Tech Time broadcasts were also linked/embedded as well. I don't know where the "line" is but I would imagine that if Ford wanted to they could go after them for the way the links are presented as it looks like it's content related to the site. I have tried to keep my own use of any material limited to the Coffee table books and I host them on my own server. I suppose Ford or International could have a legal reason to, well, I wont go there. Like I said, I try to keep my own glass house clean and clear and would prefer not to medal in any other site's business. But it is interesting.

Does this look familiar? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/readthis.gif
