Jeff Yohn
Found injector blown out of bore. Hold down and bolt broken. Relplaced sleave, injector and hold down. Reassembled and had some smoke when started. Road tested had intermittent miss then stalled and died. Now cyl 2 is Hydrolocked again. FICM test ok. Anyone seen a reason this injector is flooding the cylinder?
Torqued_Up
Are you sure the cylinder is filling with fuel and not coolant? Sometimes its hard to tell the difference with this gold coolant
DieselD
Have you taken it back apart to see if it loosened up again? if it hasent find out what is hydrolocking, fuel, oil, etc. Are you sure you got that cup back in correctly?
OHNO60
i had the same exact thing happen. was a loose injector that caused the issue.matter of fact i believe all of them were loose on one bank but one was leaking fuel into the cylider. oasis proved a job before was injectors replaced. tech didnt torque them correctly. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/boink3.gif
Keith Browning
Yeah, torquing the injectors is critical and I think someone pointed out that if there is oil in the hold down bolt holes you could end up with a good torque reading but not actually tighten the clamp effectively. Makes sense if you are in a rush.
DieselD
you need to clean the holes, Ive had that happen to me too. also make replace those hold down clamps, they have been known to stretch
SteveS
replace those hold down clamps, they have been known to stretchDo you replace them every time the injectors are removed?
DieselD
Not always, usally on trucks that have been worked on somewhere else or a problem keeping an injector tight. if they get over torqued from either a gorilla or oil in the bolt hole etc they will tend to loosen back up. Also take note there are differnt hold downs for different years/builds. using the incorrect one will cause issues as well.
